I’ve sharpened every knife in my kitchen with the GE Max now with no issues sharpening blades up to 300mm long. I’m very impressed with the hairsplitting results and I’m so glad I purchased this model over the Kadet pro as it is my personal opinion that the GE Max offers increased benefits. My orders came very well packaged with no damage to packaging or the items inside. My model also came with the upgraded screw on handle knob. I added a couple of thrust bearings to the fold out legs, they stop the legs moving while sharpening and the screws from loosening by maintaining constant tension. The bearings are such a great idea that I’d love for TSPROF to include them as standard, above and below the base plate with a longer screw to accommodate two bearings per leg which will stop any metal to metal wear when moving the legs (as the plastic washer is removed after installation). The GE Max is well machined and built rock solid with barely any perceptible play between components. I’m currently using Venev metal bonded diamond stones up to 8K with good results but I might pick up a set of alpha stones in the future. I added a set of Kadet fillet clamps and L adapters to cover my fillet knives & small pocket knives and also the Axicube shift which attaches to the guide rod with a picatinny rail. With the legs folded up and the clamps installed backwards on the clamp bar the GE Max has a very compact profile & easily fits into a drawer, cupboard or a small backpack for transport without the worry of heavy loose components banging together and getting damaged if unsecured like the Kadet. I also think the modularity of the GE Max offers much greater opportunities for future expansion. Many thanks to Alex from TSPROF Asia who helped me through picking the various upgrades and components to suit the particular blades I’d be sharpening plus all the guidance on using the machine correctly.
