Stabicap is stabilized maple—wood impregnated with a polymer compound. The manufacturing process allows for the creation of products with a unique grain pattern that offer high strength and durability. This material is resistant to temperature and humidity fluctuations; it does not crack, warp, or change shape. It withstands temperatures up to 90–100 °C and does not absorb water (no more than 4%; untreated wood absorbs 30–35% under the same conditions), possesses high hardness and strength, is easily machined by turning, milling, and planing, and polishes beautifully (to a lacquered sheen).
